Learning Disability and Autism Partnership Boards bring together lots of people to work on making things better for people with learning disabilities and autism and their families.

Care Network organises these important meetings in Blackburn with Darwen and we would love everyone who has an interest to join us and get involved.

If you or someone in your family has a learning disability and/ or autism and live in Blackburn with Darwen, there are two regular public meetings that we want you to attend:

  • Learning Disability Partnership Board
  • Autism Partnership Board

You can view a highlighted map with directions to the Learning Disabilities Partnership Board Meetings venue here.

Please note: If you are planning on joining us for one of our Partnership Board Meetings, please contact Michelle at: [email protected] to confirm your attendance.

For health, safety and to enable us to organise our meetings in everyone's best interest, we require confirmed numbers of attendees before the event. Thank you for your understanding.

Karen Livesey, pictured above, is the Director and Trainer with No Whispers Community Interest Company, and was a guest speaker at one of our recent Learning Disability Partnership Board Meetings. She said:

As a visiting guest speaker to the Blackburn with Darwen Learning Disability Partnership Board meeting I was delighted to receive a warm welcome and be introduced to people who were facilitating the event and to members of the Board and people from different groups and organisations.

I noticed the excellent resource materials on the table to enable access for people to read and understand past minutes, and engage in current activities. The layout of the room was good and offered an interactive space that supported group work, discussion and socialbility.

The refreshments and lunch provided a good opportunity to interact, network and meet new people. This format with a business and social approach lends itself to the value of people and the importance of human connection.
